How to set up Dual WAN function?

There are two Dual WAN modes in ASUS router : 

1. Load Balance and 

2. Fail Over

Load Balance :  can increase your internet bandwidth, If you have two internet connections  you can load balance them to provide more bandwidth to the devices on your home or office network. it is useful for downloading torrents and playing online games at the same time.

Fail over : can provide backup internet connectivity. If the primary internet connection goes off, the secondary connection automatically takes over the control of the network. It will make your connected always.

What is port triggering?

Port Trigger allows you to temporarily open data ports when LAN devices require unrestricted access to the Internet. There are two methods for opening incoming data ports: port forwarding and port trigger. Port forwarding opens the specified data ports all the time and devices must use static IP addresses. Port trigger only opens the incoming port when a LAN device requests access to the trigger port. Unlike port forwarding, port trigger does not require static IP addresses for LAN devices. Port forwarding allows multiple devices to share a single open port and port trigger only allows one client at a time to access the open port.

How do you set up Port Forwarding by using ASUSWRT? 

Virtual Server / Port forwarding allows remote computers to connect to a specific computer or service within a private local area network (LAN). For a faster connection, some P2P applications (such as BitTorrent), may also require that you set the port forwarding setting. You can open multiple ports or a range of ports in router and redirect data through those ports to a single client on your network.

If you want to specify a Port Range for clients on the same network, enter the Service Name, the Port Range (e.g. 10200:10300), the LAN IP address, and leave the Local Port empty.

*When your network's firewall is disabled and you set 80 as the HTTP server's port range for your WAN setup, then your http server/web would be in conflict with router's web user interface.

*When you set 20:21 as your FTP server's port range for your WAN setup, then your FTP server would be in conflictwith router's native FTP server.

A step by step Guide to Set up FTP Server

The ASUS Wireless Router allows you to share files from your USB storage device via the FTP server with computers in LAN or through the Internet.

Step -1 
Insert a USB storage device(Pen drive, USB hard disk or USB flash drive) to the USB 2.0 port on the rear panel of your wireless router. Ensure that the USB storage device is formatted and partitioned properly.

Step -2 
Go to Advanced settings > USB Applications > Server Center > FTP Share > Enable FTP > Select device & folder want to share > Apply
you can access the USB Storage through LAN by using routers IP addresse ftp://192.168.1.1

Step - 3  Run AiDisk Wizard :

Usb Applications > AiDisk > Go > give rights/permission to share folders > Next

Step - 4  DDNS Setup : 

i) Go to Advanced Settings > Click WAN > DDNS Tab > Enable the DDNS Client - Yes.

ii) Server - Choose www.asus.com

iii) Key in your Host name. The format should be xxx.asuscomm.com, where xxx is your host name.        click Apply.

Step -5

Click USB Extension > Servers Center > FTP Share tab and select the account that you want to assign access rights to, From the list of files/folders, select the type of access rights that you want to assign for specific files/folders, Click Apply to apply the changes.

Now you can try to access the storage device/FTP Server over the internet through DDNS name or by using static WAN IP address. ftp://yourname.asuscomm.com or ftp://wanipaddress

There are two QoS settings interfaces in Traffic Manger :

Ans : You can't control bandwidth on a per port basis.  Best you could do would be to control it on a per MAC address basis (which would be the only reliable way to do it anyway, otherwise anyone could just walk to the router, and switch cables around).

(2) Can't access a specific website going thru my router ?

Ans : Reduce MTU/MRU in your Router
